Since making her debut as Eleven in Stranger Things back in 2026, Millie Bobby Brown has carved out an enviable place for herself as a real Netflix star. On top of being one of the faces of the globally popular original series, the young actress has also starred in a number of hit Netflix movies, like Enola Holmes, Damsel, and The Electric State. Luckily, Brown will be back very, very soon.
Following the release of Enola Holmes 2 back in 2022, Netflix put another sequel into development the next year and officially started to be in the works by 2024. Brown and the cast filmed the highly anticipated sequel last year, and we’re finally going to see the next chapter of the teen detective in action when Enola Holmes 3 makes it to our watch lists this summer.
Netflix sets Enola Holmes 3 release date for summer 2026
In April 2025, Netflix shared a rundown of its latest and upcoming page-to-screen adaptations, from original series to original movies. The streamer included Enola Holmes 3 on that list and announced the release date for Wednesday, July 1, 2026. It’s going to be a thrilling summer thanks to Enola, and the countdown is officially for Millie Bobby’s Brown first release after Stranger Things.
Enola Holmes 3 comes from director Philip Barantini and along with Brown, the cast also includes Henry Cavill, Louis Partridge, Himesh Patel, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and Helena Bonham Carter. In the new movie, which is based on the books by Nancy Springer, Enola takes on a case in Malta as she navigates a twisted new case that becomes entangled with her personal life.
Netflix previously shared a first-look photo from the movie, which seems to preview how complicated her personal life is likely to become. The photo shows Enola staring in surprise at a handmade flower ring as Lord Tewkesbury appears to be down on one knee. Naturally, that leads us to believe that he’s proposing marriage to Enola, and that’s her “personal and professional dreams collide,” per the synopsis.
There’s no doubt that Enola Holmes 3 will be one of the biggest Netflix movies of the summer, if not the entire year. Even though it’s a role we have already seen Millie Bobby Brown play twice, fans are still eager to see what she will do next after Stranger Things and begin her post-Eleven career. While Brown just exited Netflix’s Kerri Strug biopic Perfect, she also has one more Netflix movie on the way and two more collaborations with the streamer in the works.
Last year, Brown also filmed the Netflix romantic comedy Just Picture It, which also stars Gabrielle LaBelle. The movie centers on a couple that finds their phones glitching and showing them photos of their life together 10 years into the future. Brown is also developing the supernatural series Prism and a film adaptation of her novel Nineteen Steps, both at the streamer.
