All seven seasons of the critically acclaimed FX drama Rescue Me have just made their way to Netflix in the United States and several major international territories beginning on April 26th, 2026. Here’s what we know so far about the rollout and which regions are currently included.
Created by Denis Leary and Peter Tolan, Rescue Me originally aired between 2004 and 2011. It remains one of the most significant dramas of the mid-2000s, praised for its raw and often dark comedy portrayal of the lives of New York City firefighters in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. Forbes wrote over a decade ago that the show remains television’s best Post-9/11 drama.
Leary stars as Tommy Gavin, a veteran firefighter struggling with PTSD, survivor’s guilt, and a crumbling personal life, all while navigating the high-stakes world of the fictional Ladder 62/Engine 99 firehouse. Rounding out the cast are Michael Lombardi, Steven Pasquale, Andrea Roth, John Scurti, Daniel Sunjata, Callie Thorne, Natalie Distler, James McCaffrey, and Lenny Clarke.
Our understanding is that the show is distributed by Sony Pictures Television and Disney.
Which regions is Rescue Me coming to?
Originally announced for international markets, Netflix has also unexpectedly secured the rights to all 93 episodes (Seasons 1–7) in the United States.
Subscribers in the following regions can expect the series to arrive beginning April 26th:
- United States
- Canada
- Israel
- India
- South Africa
- The Nordic Regions (Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden)
- The Czech Republic
- Mainland Europe (Including Germany, Italy, Spain, and others)
What about Netflix UK?
While the US has now been added to the list, there is still no word on the series coming to Netflix in the United Kingdom.
- In the United States: The series makes its return to Netflix after a long hiatus. While it was previously exclusive to Hulu, the 2026 deal brings Tommy Gavin back to his original streaming home where it previously resided until 2015.
- In the United Kingdom: The series has historically been harder to find on streaming services, and for now, it remains off the Netflix UK upcoming schedule. The show did stream on Netflix UK for a brief period in 2013.
If you are in one of the lucky regions, you are in for a treat. Rescue Me is widely considered one of the best “prestige” dramas of its era, balancing laugh-out-loud firehouse banter with some of the most heartbreaking depictions of grief ever put to film.
