A severe thunderstorm warning for Willacy County expired.

The severe thunderstorm warning expired Friday at 8:15 p.m. It was issued after the expiration of a tornado warning for Willacy and Kenedy counties.

The tornadic thunderstorm was making its way to Port Mansfield when the warning was issued.

Strong, but not severe, thunderstorms are now moving through the coastal areas of northeastern Willacy County. Wind gusts of up to 40 mph and pea-sized hail are possible with these storms.
